In 1999, Mr. Jo Wyckmans pioneered the use of molecular distillation technology to refine purity. The first generation of products had a slightly higher EPA content than DHA. After two years of repeated technical optimization, he finally succeeded in producing high-purity Omega-3 supplements. Subsequently, he invested in and participated in the construction of the KD Pharma factory. During the mass production process, he used carbon dioxide (CO₂) as a medium and pioneered supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) technology to perform very environmentally friendly fish oil refining and purification.
Omega-3 products based on the SFC (supercritical fluid chromatography) extraction process have the highest purity and highest concentration in the world. This special CO₂ distillation process has always adhered to the concept of environmental protection and green health, protecting the ecological balance of the earth while developing technology. Jo Wyckmans and Dr. Rudi Krumbholz (KD Pharma) have worked closely with the University of Antwerp to continuously optimize the purification process of purity and concentration, and have brought about tremendous changes in the field of Omega-3 fish oil.
